I didn't care too much for tube screamer like pedals (They all sounded like ice picks through it), but the Analogman Prince of Tone worked really well with it (It's arguably a "tube screamer" like pedal, but is MUCH more transparent tone wise). I went through a LOT of pedal options with it and found that cleaner sounding light overdrives and boosts sounded best with it. I've got a Matchless Baby, so it's a lower watt Spitfire. You have some nice stuff and they should do just fine. Has a nice low mid growl that no other pedal has. Great as a clean boost, as well as adding more gain with a little Tweed flavor thrown in (does more than Tweed too). Thick and creamy and cuts.Ĭlark Gainster - super amazing pedal with any amp. Skreddy Screwdriver - fuzzy like OD pedal. Some wouldn't think so since they are already bright amps but, when you push the Beano - you get this amazing creamy midrange to come through with some fuzzy hair on it that cuts like a knife! Others that I have used that work fantastic:Īnalogman Beano Boost - super amazing into Matchless amps. I think the pedals you have should work fantastic. I really enjoy using ODs with mine for nice boosted lead tones. Huge Matchless fan here - own a few different models.
